A very thorny development issue and human society affecting matter is the child labor. This is world wide problem. Children fundamental education and their young life happiness are not enjoyed by the pupil who is promoted to be a labor. In today’s scenario as the statistic given by the ILO (International Labor Organization) about 73 million children between the ages of 10 to 14 are employed in the work activities all over the world.
According to a survey the child labor is uncontrolled in Asia. About 44.6 million children were employed. Next comes Africa with 23.6 million and Latin America with 5.1 million.
In spite of taking all the necessary steps and introducing more child labor laws this matter prevails and persists in the world fact.
Child labor is a reality in spite of all the steps taken by the legal machinery to eliminate it. It prevails and persists as a world phenomenon in spite of child labor laws. The existing laws related to child labor are deliberately despoiled by the beneficiaries present all over the world. Government of India implemented the child labor law in 1986 stating that child labor is illegal and the minimum age for working should be fourteen years.
There were many loop holes in this law because it did not make the child labor completely illegal and does not meet the guidelines set by ILO, which says that the minimum working age is fifteen years. So without proper enforcement of all police and laws concerning child labor all over the world this act cannot be abolished.
