The most stunning monument in Jaipur is the Have Mahal and was build by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799.
This crowned palace was built originally for the royal women to watch the proceedings on the street below without being watched by others.
This palace has a five storeyed building, which is made of pink sand stone decorated with casements and each building has an ornately carved tiny windows and arched roofs. The distinct feature of this building is that the entrance is at the rear end.
At the entrance
From the city palace, a huge leaves the way into an open courtyard that leads to the Hawa Mahal. The fifty-foot-high construction is just a bony shelter of stone with ramps built to reach the chambers used by women of the royal family.
Architecture
This marvelous architecture is an excellent example of Rajput ability and it was designed by Lal Chand Usta. This palace when viewed from the street looks like a crown adorning the king’s head.
